The signing aims to enhance South Africa's agricultural productivity, promote the modernization of water resource management and irrigation systems, and promote the development of innovative water-saving technologies, cross-border water resource management, standard setting, and smart agricultural equipment.
"DAYU IRRIGATION Group is always willing to act as a pioneer and bridge for 'going global,' promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and South Africa in the fields of water-saving irrigation and flood control and disaster reduction. At the same time, we also look forward to working hand in hand with the Chinese companies present to explore more cooperation opportunities and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. We believe that through our joint efforts, we will promote the agricultural development and water resource management of China and South Africa to a new level and create a better future." Wang Haoyu, Chairman of DAYU IRRIGATION Group, said at the symposium.
In recent years, DAYU IRRIGATION has actively responded to the national "Belt and Road" initiative, continuously exploring new ideas and models for "going global" and "bringing in," and strengthening exchanges and cooperation with countries and regions along the route. South Africa, as the first African country to sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with China under the "Belt and Road" initiative, occupies a pivotal position in DAYU IRRIGATION's international strategy. DAYU IRRIGATION has carried out extensive cooperation with the local government and partners in the fields of agriculture and water conservancy.
Affected by climate change, South Africa faces uneven and scarce water resources on the one hand, while some areas suffer from floods on the other. Faced with these challenges, DAYU IRRIGATION has taken active action, signing a strategic cooperation agreement with local partners in South Africa since 2016. Currently, the company's intelligent water and fertilizer integrated water-saving irrigation system has been stably operating in Hartswater, Northern Cape Province, South Africa for more than five years. This system has not only stood the test of time but has also won widespread praise and high trust from local farmers. By providing advanced irrigation technologies and equipment to South African farmland, DAYU IRRIGATION has successfully helped local farmers achieve precise irrigation and scientific management, significantly improving the output efficiency of farmland. Its demonstration effect has led more farms to accept and use DAYU IRRIGATION's products and solutions.
DAYU IRRIGATION has also maintained long-term exchanges and cooperation with institutions such as the Southeast Africa Agricultural Cooperation Alliance and the South African Irrigation Development Bureau. Both sides have not only achieved significant results in promoting cutting-edge water-saving technologies, cross-border water resource management, standard setting, and the development of smart agricultural equipment, but have also established a long-term cooperation platform through talent cultivation and technical exchanges, laying a solid foundation for promoting efficient water resource management and the modernization of irrigation systems in South Africa.
In the future, DAYU IRRIGATION will continue to cultivate the South African market, fully utilizing its advanced technologies and rich experience in water resource management, using South Africa as a bridgehead in southern Africa to contribute "DAYU power" to the sustainable development of agriculture and efficient water resource management in South Africa and southern Africa.
