DAYU IRRIGATION Group and Pakistan to go further in Cooperation on Agricultural Water Saving and Explore New Paths for Efficient Utilization of Water Resources
On September 4, 2025, Cui Jing, Senior Vice President of DAYU Irrigation Group (hereinafter referred to as "DAYU Irrigation"), intensively carried out meetings on China-Pakistan agricultural cooperation: firstly, she held a special meeting with Pakistan's Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Planning and Development; and then learnt of thorny issues from Pakistani representatives of governmental and business enterprises on how to work together; Finally, Cui Jing was invited to attend the 2nd China-Pakistan B2B Investment Summit and completed a agreement signing, which promoted China-Pakistan agricultural cooperation to a new stage in a multi-level and multi-dimensional way, and gave an impetus of Chinese technology to Pakistan's modernization of agriculture and efficient use of water resources.
As a Chinese company taking part in Pakistan's agricultural development at an early stage, DAYU Irrigation has always focused on the core issues of local water shortage and the urgent need for localization of water-saving technologies since it joined Pakistan's "One Million Acres of Green Pakistan" program in 2024 and undertook a modern agricultural irrigation project in the Bahawalpur district. Based on the long-term tracking of the thorny issues and policy guidance of Pakistan's agricultural development, DAYU Irrigation has built up an integrated cooperation framework of "technology export + local production + capacity building", and this series of exchange activities is precisely the promotion and implementation of the key cooperation matters under this framework.
The special meeting between Ms. Cui and the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Planning and Development of Pakistan marked an important beginning of the exchange on cooperation. During the meeting, the Minister of Agriculture highly affirmed DAYU Irrigation's technical strength in the Bahawalpur Irrigation Project, and made it clear that he would support DAYU Irrigation in terms of policy approvals and coordination of resources for field trials, to promote the large-scale application of water-saving technologies in the main wheat and rice production areas; while the Minister of Planning and Development put forward specific proposals for the launch of localized production lines for water-saving equipment, and promised to assist in connect DAYU Irrigation with local parts suppliers in Pakistan to reduce production costs. Both sides reached several consensuses around the "technology adaptation - local production - market promotion" chain of cooperation, clearing the obstacles for subsequent cooperative efforts. At the end of the meeting, Ms. Cui and the two ministers took a group photo together, framing the important moment of China-Pakistan agricultural cooperation.

After reaching a consensus on cooperation with the ministers, Ms. Cui engaged in in-depth exchanges with representatives of key enterprises in Pakistan from multiple fields and at multiple levels. During the meeting, Ms. Cui systematically introduced DAYU's industry chain service capabilities and technological advantages in the field of agricultural water-saving irrigation - including the success story of doubling cotton yields with the application of drip irrigation and fertigation technology in Pakistan, which was highly recognized by the enterprise representatives. The two sides laid a solid foundation for subsequent cooperative efforts in the fields of localized production of water-saving equipment and joint research and development of technology by accurately responding to the demand for equipment procurement and technology adaptation, and focusing on the key issues of cooperation, such as local production and post-service guarantee.

Subsequently, Ms. Cui was invited to attend the 2nd China-Pakistan B2B Investment Summit. At the summit, Ms. Cui signed an MOU on behalf of DAYU Irrigation, focusing on the two core directions of localized production of water conservation equipment and joint research and development of technology, marking the transition from " intentions" to " implementation" of cooperation between DAYU Irrigation and its local partners in Pakistan.

In order to bring the consensus of the series of exchanges to fruition, DAYU Irrigation has formulated a multi-stage promotion plan. In the short term, we will set up a "Pakistan Project Special Team" to link up technical, production and investment teams, refine the siting of the drip tape production line, the timetable for joint R&D projects and other programs, and complete the first round of program discussion with the Pakistan Ministry of Agriculture as soon as possible; in the medium term, we will push forward the preliminary formalities for the drip tape production line such as environmental impact assessment, land approval and other procedures, and equipment Procurement and recruitment of local skilled workers in parallel, so as to achieve trial production and reduce Pakistan's dependence on imports of water-saving equipment; at the same time, we will collaborate with Pakistan Agricultural Research Council in a number of field trials pilot Council in the wheat, rice growing areas, to verify the applicability of customized water-saving program; a long-term plan is to set up "agricultural water-saving technology service center in Pakistan, with a professional training team to conduct free training courses for farmers and agricultural technicians several quarterly and with usage the Bahawalpur Demonstration Project as a model to jointly promote the "Water Saving Irrigation Promotion Program" with the Pakistani government in an effort to incorporate DAYU's water conservation technology solutions into the local agricultural modernization policy support catalog, so that to realize the national replication of high-efficiency water-saving technologies.
In the future, DAYU Irrigation will continue to update the Gansu Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and the relevant China's agencies of foreign affairs in Pakistan on the progress of the project, and will actively rely on the governmental platforms and resources to increase agricultural cooperation between China and Pakistan, which is not only to build practical bridges for Gansu enterprises to go global, but also to contribute to the modernization of Pakistan's agriculture and the sustainable use of water resources with more Chinese solutions.
