On December 26, the inaugural China Water Conservation Award Ceremony was held in Beijing. Wang Haoyu, Chairman of Dayu Irrigation Group Co., Ltd., was awarded the “China Water Conservation Award—Advanced Individual,” the highest honor in China’s water conservation field, and delivered a speech during the ceremony.
Wang Haoyu stated that China is one of the world’s major economies facing the most severe water scarcity. Given the country’s fundamentally uneven spatial and temporal distribution of water resources and the frequent occurrence of droughts and floods, prioritizing water conservation has become an inevitable choice for promoting high-quality development.
After the award ceremony, Minister Li Guoying had a warm and cordial exchange with award recipients including Wang Haoyu. He fully recognized their contributions to implementing the principle of water conservation first, and encouraged water-saving professionals to continue dedicating themselves to the nation’s water conservation efforts, demonstrating the spirit of pioneering ambition and sense of responsibility characteristic of water-saving professionals in the new era, as well as their down-to-earth, persistent, and persevering attitude in their work.
