Dayu Group held talks in Beijing with Zimbabwe’s Vice President, leveraging its full-industry-chain capabilities to help Zimbabwe overcome challenges in agricultural development.

Yesterday (September 10), during the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services, Dayu Group held a dedicated meeting with Zimbabwean Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, who was in China to attend the event, to discuss practical cooperation between China and Zimbabwe in agriculture and water resources. Cui Jing, Senior Vice President of Dayu Group, Chairman of the Equipment Development Group, and General Manager of the International Business Division, led a symposium, which was attended by numerous ministerial-level officials from Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Finance, and other departments.
Cui Jing The delegation from the Zimbabwean government was given a comprehensive briefing on Dayu Group’s industrial footprint, core technologies, end-to-end supply-chain service capabilities, achievements in global project implementation, and the diversified cooperation framework between the two sides. Cui Jing stated that, leveraging Dayu Group’s strengths across the entire agricultural‑water‑conservation value chain—spanning planning and design, intelligent equipment manufacturing, engineering construction, and smart operations and maintenance—the Group will align precisely with Zimbabwe’s agricultural modernization strategy. By deploying smart‑agriculture technologies and state‑of‑the‑art water‑saving irrigation systems, it will promote large‑scale, standardized cultivation of local specialty crops. At the same time, drawing on its proven rural wastewater‑treatment technologies and field‑implementation experience, Dayu Group will help Zimbabwe improve its rural ecological water environment, fostering mutual reinforcement between agricultural development and ecological governance.
Vice President Chiwenga He stated that Zimbabwe’s agricultural development currently faces significant challenges. Despite ample water resources and well‑developed reservoir infrastructure, water remains difficult to access—particularly the “last mile” bottleneck between upstream reservoirs and on‑farm fields—preventing these abundant water assets from being effectively translated into productive agricultural output and severely constraining the modernization of the sector. At the same time, there is an urgent need for a professional, locally tailored agricultural water‑management support system that can establish a comprehensive, end‑to‑end service loop covering the installation, operation, maintenance, and upgrading of water‑related infrastructure. Vice President Chiwenga highly commended Dayu Group’s technological expertise, project experience, and advantages across the entire industrial chain, noting that Dayu precisely aligns with Zimbabwe’s needs for agricultural transformation and upgrading.

In April 2018, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa warmly received Xie Yongsheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Dayu Group, and his delegation, marking the official launch of agricultural cooperation between the two sides.
In September 2022, Martin Chedondo, then Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to China, visited the Dayu Water-Saving Tianjin Production, R&D, and Intelligent Manufacturing Base to conduct an on-site inspection of Dayu’s core technologies and production capacity.
In July 2026, Dayu Group will host a Dayu Brand Day event at the Harare Agricultural Exhibition Center in Zimbabwe, showcasing smart agriculture and high-efficiency irrigation solutions, thereby establishing a strong brand reputation in the local market.
Through this round of talks, the two sides engaged in in-depth consultations on key issues such as bottlenecks in Zimbabwe’s agricultural development, smart irrigation infrastructure, upgrading the entire agricultural value chain, and rural water‑environment management, reaching a series of important agreements. Vice President Chiwenga formally invited the Dayu Group to expand into various regions across Zimbabwe, develop locally tailored projects, and pursue long-term, in-depth engagement. He also instructed Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Ministry of Agriculture, and Ministry of Finance to establish dedicated task forces and inspection delegations to conduct on-site coordination with Dayu’s smart‑water‑conservation manufacturing plant, R&D center, and benchmark projects, thereby facilitating the comprehensive delivery of integrated solutions and driving a series of practical outcomes.
Looking ahead, Dayu Group will address Zimbabwe’s key agricultural challenges and align with its development priorities by precisely addressing local irrigation gaps and strengthening its localized service network. The company will comprehensively expand cooperation in smart agriculture, water‑saving irrigation, and rural water management, leveraging cutting‑edge technologies and end‑to‑end capabilities to help Zimbabwe overcome obstacles to agricultural development, unlock new momentum for its agribusiness sector, and further deepen China–Zimbabwe economic and trade ties. In doing so, Dayu Group aims to establish a benchmark model for China–Africa cooperation in agriculture and water resources.

China International Fair for Trade in Services 2026 Held from September 9 to 13 at the Shougang Park in Beijing, the event was co-hosted by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, the World Intellectual Property Organization, the Ministry of Commerce, and the People’s Government of Beijing. Exhibitors from 90 countries and international organizations participated, with more than 1,830 companies showcasing their offerings on-site, including 473 Fortune Global 500 firms and leading industry players.
